The closure of Peggy Karr Glass

Peggy Karr Glass was where I had my very first internship while I was in college, and although I haven't stayed in touch with Peggy and her team as much as I may have wanted to, I was more than surprised when I heard that they're closing their doors this year.
My mom had purchased multiple pieces from Peggy Karr over the years, and after hearing about the opportunity of interning there, persuaded me to try my hand at applying. It was how then I ended up on a factory tour with my family. Although I was feeling sick and nearly fainted in the kiln room (as unbeknowst to us at the time, I was in the early stages of appendicitis), I made my way through the tour, introduced myself to Peggy, and secured myself a summer internship.

The next couple of months, Peggy and her team graciously taught me every step of their process, and I walked away with more experience and having had a lot of fun. If you haven't visited their shop (either in Randolph or online), I would highly recommend being a part of their final sale and walking away with a beautiful piece of functual artwork.

The outlet store will be open one final time this weekend, on August 20th, from 10am - 4pm at their Randolph location (100 Washington St, Randolph New Jersey 07869).

Another day, another Justin Crowe kickstarter...

I'm so excited to announce that my good friend Justin Crowe has another awesome Kickstarter running for a really fun, intelligent, and (dare I say it) sexy new project he's created. After the success of his Meme the World campaign last year (check it out here and here), I'm so excited to spread the word about... Paul.

Let's face it - this is one of the best and most interesting physical blending/merge of both art and social media that's out there currently, and that doesn't even encompass Paul's amazing ability to turn something as mundane and ordinary as a smartphone charger into an instant conversation piece. The Kickstarter runs until the 22nd of the month, so be sure you're a part of Paul's entrance into the world!

Brandi & the TAOS Clay Studio

This week is about to become full of updates, because all of my friends are doing really interesting things. Also, I'm doing some really interesting things too :D

First off, we're going to start with my friend Brandi Jessup, who is now doing wonderful things as the new owner/director of the awesome Taos Clay Studio in Taos, NM. I just know she's going to do fantastic things, and the studio itself looks like an amazing place, so I definitely suggest you check it out if you're in the area of New Mexico, or if you just love ceramics... or if you're looking for a pretty sweet residency.

Speaking of how very cool things seem to be, watch the video below (Brandi's first day was April 1st... she is definitely a brave soul)...

Happy New Year!

Another year, another... well, year.
2013 has been something of a year of change. Things happened that I wasn't expecting, for both good and bad, but the biggest thing has been the reemergence of my creativity. I thought for a bit it died. I'm glad that was not the case haha.

More updates in the days to come (for once I actually promise, especially thanks to this beautiful, wonderful snow storm named Hercules that is going to come and give me some time to think), but for now, hit the Links section (specifically here) to check out some more great artists and sites I just can't seem to pull away from.

And since I haven't said it yet, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Letter to the World III - An Update!

Letter to the World III (which I previously posted about here and here), which was a fantastic site-specific piece created by my former professors D. Chase Angier, Marketa Fantova, as well as Evelyn Leblanc Roberge and featuring a performance by my friend Kim Rau (as well as others) made an absolute splash at the World Stage Design 2013 earlier this month in Wales. Congratulations to everyone!
