New year, new look!

I know, it's been an extraordinary long time (even for me) since I've posted here, but 2012 was a busy year for me. In the interim days since I've been away (including having taken a break from art for a little while), work has been good (catch me daily over at Dean Michaels Studio's blog and Facebook page; I run both!), life in general has been positive, and I've been enjoying my post-collegiate life wholeheartedly.

With that said, I'm getting back to basics after some time away. I've got a couple of new projects I've recently started that I'm really jazzed about and can't wait to share. I've had an awesome blogging opportunity come at me from a good friend that I can't wait to start. And, the most important thing (at least when it comes to my website!) is that I'm in the process of doing a major overhaul. If you've been paying attention recently, you'll have noticed the basic changes in layout, links, and banner. As I type, I'm also in the process of reuploading and tweaking my portfolio/gallery space. Fingers crossed, I should have everything up to date in a few weeks.

So, if you've been missing a little bit of Rachel in your life, don't fret! Good things are coming your way soon.

The start of something new...

I'm so excited to announce the start of this great project/contest I just took on over at my job at Dean Michaels Studio! In order to get more of our current brides interested in the company's Facebook page, I devised a contest that will both share the company's most recent work, as well as excite couples into not only visiting the page more regularly, but having their friends and family interact with the studio too. It also gave me the opportunity to create all of the artwork for the samplers, which I was pretty excited about.

Paranormal Activity 3... with the Gadabout Girl!

A few weeks ago, I posted a vlog I did with Kristen reviewing the film Abduction. We had a blast (as we usually do), so seeing as our summer of working Homegoods and hitting up Free Movie Tuesdays has quickly turned into fall, I decided to join her once more to review Paranormal Activity 3. Movie review vlog with the Gadabout Girl...

a.k.a., the darling Kristen. We always talk movies and books and always have a good time; she's been known to vlog about her most recent cinematic experiences, and since I was along for the ride (and actually proposed going to see this particular film... keep reading after the jump as to the particulars), I figured it would be fun to join her.
