Parsippany/Montville Adventure Bootcamp

I am so absolutely thrilled to be helping out the wonderful Jessica Kucinski with the social media and marketing for both her Parsippany and Montville Adventure Bootcamps.

I can't be more excited to help get more people involved with this wonderful organization (as well as Jess's personal athletic training business, Little Black Dress). I've also created a brand new Twitter account to go along with the two fan pages, so be sure to follow! If anything can get me up and going at 5:30am in the morning, you know it's a good thing, so I'm looking forward to promoting her business and helping her reach the next level.

I, Spy... The Lost Boys?

College was a mind-opener for me in terms of board games. Video games? I'm your girl. Card games/drinking games? Of course. And although it might have taken me a bit longer, super complicated games like Catan became all the rage, if only because my dearest friends were freaking addicted to them (and there's only so long before you get sucked into the madness).

Which is why I am so absolutely thrilled that I, Spy has made it's Kickstarter goal! Not only is Lost Boy Productions run by a former Alfred alum (Simon Reid), but the art for the game is too (Sylvie Demers, as well as the awesome Chloe J. Tran). I'm super psyched to see the finished product, and the game play is going to be epic!

It's just a summertime, summertime update...

The title of this post is obviously inspired by Lana Del Ray's ubiquitious lead single off her newest album (which, although it was only released at the end of June, has become so overplayed as to make it the bane of my existance driving to work in the morning). It's been a musical sort of month for me, which has lead to some good art, as well as some interesting opportunities.

What's this? More updates to the Tiny Little Boxes series!I've got some fun new updates to the Tiny Little Boxes series, which has been a lot of fun for me. If you've been a regular follower of the R Rutledge Online tumblr, I started creating collage art for the different mixtapes I burned based off the playlist (check out the /mixtape archive for some of my earlier.. um, well, attempts haha); music still plays a huge part in my creative process, especially when it comes to this series.

I also updated my digital photography archives, and am currently sorting through my newest rolls of film for the next major update. I'm also really thrilled to announce after some time away, I've started getting back into the Book Project, with updates to that to be up before the end of the summer. Yesterday I posted about working with the Parsippany Historical and Preservation Society, which I'm really excited about. It's a great group based out of my hometown that I've always been happy to support, and I'm thrilled to be able to get them their start within the social media platform.

The last little bit? An updates to my links sections - there's some awesome new blogs up there you should check out, so definitely don't be shy :)

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer weekend... more things will be coming before you know it!

Helping out the PHPS

I've lived in Parsippany my whole life, residing in the same old, historic house that not only my dad grew up in, but is one of the only remaining historic homes left in town. The history of Parsippany is such a great one, and in that vein, I've been a member of the Parsippany Historical and Preservation Society since my interest in history (and in my family home) became a defining character trait ;D

I'm excited to announce that I'm currently running both the PHPS main webpage/blog as well as their Facebook fan page, both of which went live a little over a month ago. Everything's still a bit under construction, but I'm looking forward to adding more content and helping the Parsippany Historical and Preservation Society reach a broader audience about the historical sites and future events of the town :D

Another day, another Justin Crowe kickstarter...

I'm so excited to announce that my good friend Justin Crowe has another awesome Kickstarter running for a really fun, intelligent, and (dare I say it) sexy new project he's created. After the success of his Meme the World campaign last year (check it out here and here), I'm so excited to spread the word about... Paul.

Let's face it - this is one of the best and most interesting physical blending/merge of both art and social media that's out there currently, and that doesn't even encompass Paul's amazing ability to turn something as mundane and ordinary as a smartphone charger into an instant conversation piece. The Kickstarter runs until the 22nd of the month, so be sure you're a part of Paul's entrance into the world!
